Beach Theme Pocket Letter

Pocket Letters are all the craze right now. This is my first one that I have made and it won't be my last. I went with a beach theme. Unfortunately my pictures were taken at night and on the wrong setting....so the color is horrible in these pictures. Sadly I have already sent it to it's recipient so I can not retake the pictures.
A close up of some of the pockets:

Before I sent it off I wrapped it in some fishnet with some seashells attached.
If you haven't heard of pocket letters then you need to google them or head over to Pinterest and do a search. You will be surprised at what you will see.....oh my goodness!

Beach Theme Altered File Folder Mini Album / Journal Combination

Taking a moment to share with you all an altered file folder mini album / journal that I made with a beach theme. The paper that I used is by Paper Studios and is called Beach House. There are quite a few pages as well as some top and side loading pockets, attached tags and a metal clip closure. Here are some more pictures.
Some inside views:

I've created a video that shows every page and other details of the album. You can find it here:
I also have listed this in my etsy store. Here is the link:

Altered Composition Notebook Using Graphic 45's Couture Paper Collection

Has it really been two months since I have posted last? I have been creating...really I have. I have been bad though at photographing my projects and posting. I will have to work on improving that.

Tonight I would like to show you a composition notebook that I altered. To begin, I took the notebook apart. Yes I did say apart.
I was looking at a composition book and wondering what would happen if I cut the stitching and removed the pages so that I could decorate the cover without the paper in it. Surprising, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

The tricky part was making sure I had my holes in the spine . I covered the middle with cardstock and then flipped it over to the outside and pierced the holes from there so that I would have the holes on the inside. Here are some pictures of the inside once I altered / decorated it. Both the front and back covers have pockets that things can be tucked into it.

I then made an envelope that I attached by sewing it in the middle while sewing the text block back in.

 Front and back covers:

And...my favorite part...the spine! While sewing the text block back in, I added pearls to the stitching on the outside. Love it!
I was quite pleased with my experiment of taking a composition book apart to alter it and then sewing the text block back again. I will be trying this again...I have more ideas I want to try.

I hope you like my altered composition book and I hope it inspires you to alter one too.
