Sweetheart Tilda / Magnolia

First let me apologize for the poor quality of my pictures. My computer died last week causing me to have to replace it. Apparently my old computer was sooooo old that I not only have the new operating system Vista but all my old software will not load on the new computer. So currently I only have the photo editing software that comes with Vista till I buy new software. I'm very limited as to what I can do with photos right now and currently it is pouring down rain outside so I couldn't go outside to try and take a better quality picture.

This is a "two-fer"......two Challenges. The first challenge is for the new Just Magnolia Challenge Blog. The challenge is to use the colors pink and green. I chose to use Sweetheart Tilda from the Magnolia line. I paper pieced part of her dress for more dimension and colored the other parts with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

The second challenge is for the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog. This is my first time to join in their challenges. I have been lurking and viewing their sketches weekly and I'm glad to finally have some time to join in on one of their challenges. Check them out, they have some great sketches every week!

Not A Challenge, Fairys, Mushrooms and Ladybugs

I love to participate in the many different challenge blogs as much as I can but every once in awhile I just like to sit down and make a card. Such was the case with this one. This image is a recent purchase I made from Simon Says Stamp......which I highly recommend this company. Excellent service and reasonable to free shipping depending on the size of your order. I have listed my favorite shopping places to the right in my sidebar and there you can find a link to Simon Says Stamp.

This image is from Stampavie and is from the Rachelle Anne Miller line called "Lily Magic Fairy Ladybug Mushroom. I colored the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol. Cardstock is by Wausau and printed paper is a scrap from my paper stash. I used Spellbinder's Nestabilities to cut my shapes. Sizzix die was used for the curly Q vine and a Martha Stewart heart border punch. Prima flowers were added with a Glitterati rhinestone center to finish off the card. Completed card size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you liked my card!

Simon Says Challenge #1 - Green and Yellow

Simon Says Stamp has started a new challenge blog! The very first challenge is going on right now. There will be a new challenge posted every two weeks. The current challenge is to make anything your heart desires...ATC, card, tag, scrapbook layout long as you use the colors green and yellow. I love green but have never been a fan of yellow so I had to think this one through a bit. I found some paper that had some bright springy green and yellows and from there my idea developed. I'm having a bit of trouble with one of the colors showing correctly in my photo. There is a bit of orange in the paper that I also used to pull color from for my ribbon and matting the image and sentiment. It is not really showing the true color in the photo. Sorry for this. I should have taken this outside for photographing it.

Supplies used:
Stamps: Image: Alva Elf by Magnolia, Flower by Magnolia, Sentiment but Studio G clear stamps
Cardstock: Bazzill and Wausau
Printed Paper: Bugs and Butterflies Daisy Stripe purchased at Archivers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Offray Ribbon
Spellbinders Nestabilities
Fiskars and Paper Shapers flower punches
Techniques Used: Masking technique, Image colored with Prismacolor Color Pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Finished Card Size: 5" x 7"

Be sure to check out Simon Says Challenge blog...they are offering a really fun prize to be chosen by random for their first challenge!

Mojo Monday #80 Sketch Challenge

Squeezing in the Mojo Monday challenge at the last minute before the next one is posted tomorrow. I recently purchased the Russian nesting dolls image set by Hero Arts and was anxious to use one of them. I picked out my papers and cardstock and just as I was ready to take that first slice into my paper I thought about the paper I used for another Mojo sketch challenge recently and thought it might look nice with the image. I looked through my scrap's pretty big with lots of scraps.....and sure enough I had a big enough piece to make my card. Everything used to make this card was from my scraps for the exception of the card base.

Supplies Used:
Image: Hero Arts
Sentiment: Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Cardstock: Bazzill and Wausau
Printed Paper: Unknown / scraps from my stash
Spellbinders Nestabilities
Paper Shapers Flower Punch
Pearls by Hero Arts

Thanks for stopping by....I appreciate it!

Cupcake Craft Challenge -#33 A Sketch & The Pink Elephant #8 / Easter Theme

I have a Two-fer today! The Cupcake Craft Challenge this week is a sketch. I love sketch challenges! I got a new wide screen monitor recently and sometimes it will stretch out pictures that aren't formatted for wide screen. So I wasn't sure if the sketch called for a circle or an oval. It showed as an oval on my screen but when I printed the sketch for reference it printed out as a circle. I checked some of the other entries and found that some did a circle and some did an oval so ....I did a circle and followed the sketch from there.

The challenge this week at The Pink Elephant is a theme....Easter. This was perfect for me as I needed to make an Easter card any way. I chose to use Monica from the House Mouse collection. On the outside she is presenting the Easter egg and then I chose to decorate the inside with Monica now sitting inside the cracked egg. If you haven't noticed from my blog....the House Mouse line of stamps are one of my favorites. Love those critters!

Above is the sketch we were to follow for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. Below is a picture of the inside of my card.

Supplies Used:
Images: House Mouse by Stampabilities
Sentiment: Computer generated
Ink: Memories - Black
Cardstock: Bazzill
Printed Paper: BasicGrey - Two Scoops Collection
Spellbinders Nestabilities
Pearls by Hero Arts
Offray Ribbon
Techniques Used: Image colored with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol
Card Size: 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square

Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to check out the Cupcake Craft Challenge and The Pink Elephant blogs.
