Just Magnolia- So Charming & Sketch Saturday Challenges

I have a twofer......two of my favorite challenges.....Just Magnolia and Sketch Saturday. I'm getting this in just at the last minute for the Just Magnolia challenge which is to include a charm on your creation as well as a Magnolia image. I chose to use Alva the elf holding a flower. She is one of my favorite images from the Magnolia line. I love the sketch this week over at Sketch Saturday, which you can find below. I thought it was perfect for my Alva card.

The card base is a cream color by Wausau. The solid distressed and printed papers are by Basic Grey from their new line called "Lemonade". I just love this paper. I chose to do some additional distressing with inking the edges of some of the papers with Tim Holtz's Distress Inks and also using a distress tool by Heidi Swapp. There are some fabulous creations to check out over at Just Magnolia and Sketch Saturday.....I hope you will take some time to check them out.

Puddle Fun / Happy Hopper - House Mouse

Over on the Creating Keepsakes / Paper Crafts message board, weekly challenges are hosted by the board participants to encourage our "mojo" not to go into hiding. This past week the challenge was hosted by Judy / dgbearsmom. The challenge was to use a new image that you have never worked with before as well as to choose one other item from a list of options she gave you to choose from. One of the options was to combine the challenge with another challenge which is what I chose to do, combining with the House Mouse weekly challenge. I chose to use a Happy Hopper image called Puddle Fun. The challenge this past week over at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge blog was to use paper tole on your creation. There is more than one form or levels of paper tole. For this challenge a tutorial was provided to show how to do a simple paper tole on your creation. You can see the tutorial here. Basically though the art of paper tole is to create a dimensional or 3D effect. I chose to do this with the umbrella in the image.

This is a rather large image to work with not allowing you much room to add embellishments. I managed to squeeze in a flower, charm and some pearls though! Thanks for stopping by.

Giving Shelter by Rachelle Anne Miller / Stampavie Stamps

I think my"mojo " took a vacation but it has finally returned with a three-fer! The challenge over at Roses On Paper is flowers and an added twist is you are also suppose to combine the challenge with at least one other challenge. You must also use a Magnolia, Rachelle Anne Miller, Sarah Kay or Greeting Farm image. I chose to use a Rachelle Anne Miller image called "Giving Shelter". I love this image and how fun it is to color it with a bit of whimsy.

As luck would have it the current challenge at Stampavie is also flowers and the use of a Stampavie image which includes the Rachelle Anne Miller line. That brings me to challenge #3 which is a sketch that I myself created. Some of you might recognize it from a few posts ago. Each week on the CK/ Paper Crafts message board we take turns hosting challenges to keep our mojo going. This past week was my turn to host a sketch challenge. I chose to use this sketch that I had created last month when needing a layout for a card I was making for another challenge. I have had a lot of fun with this sketch and have really enjoyed seeing what others have created using it. You can find the sketch HERE. For the flower part of the challenge, I have the flower in the image which I cut out and pop dotted for added dimension. I embossed the pink and yellow circles with a floral print using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and I made two flowers to pop dot on by using the medium and large Paper Shapers Retro Flower Punches.

House Mouse ATC

Artist trading cards are miniature works of art created on 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" card stock. They have become very popular with artist and crafters throughout the world. If you would like to learn more about them, click here and here. Also if you google "ATC", will find a ton of info about ATCs as well as several galleries displaying samples.

I made these for a swap I am in that requires that we use a House Mouse image and we were to make 6 of them to trade with 6 other swappers. I chose to use Mudpie "Having a Ball" as my image. He is colored with Prismacolor colored pencils then blended with Gamsol. I used crystal Stickles by Ranger on the ornament and Snow Dimensional Paint by DecoArt for the brim and pom pom on Mudpie's Santa hat. I used Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut my scallop circle. Card stock is by Bazzill and the white card stock is embossed with Cuttlebug's Snowflake embossing folder. Double sided satin ribbon by Offray and corner punch by Stampin Up was used to finish off my ATC.

CK /PC Sketch, Just Magnolia and Simon Says Challenges

I have another three-fer! The first challenge is the sketch challenge for Creative Keepsakes / Paper Crafts message board forum. There is a group of us who participate on the board that like to challenge each other with challenges. This week the challenge is a sketch which is hosted by Jenny / geminijen. The second challenge this card is for is the Just Magnolia challenge. This week the challenge is to do paper piecing. I love paper piecing and quite often will paper piece Tilda's outfits. On this card I have paper pieced her dress and the bow in her hair.

The third challenge is for Simon Says and this week Simon Says use pink and brown on your creation. I had a really hard time photographing this card, even took it outside in the sun. I used a really dark brown and it kept looking black in the pictures. Trust me, I have lots of brown and pink on my card....no black!

Just Magnolia, Roses On Paper and A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenges - A Three-fer!

I have a three-fer going! The current challenge at Roses On Paper is a color challenge using the colors pink, green and yellow. You must also use either a Magnolia, Alota, Sarah Kay, Rachelle Anne Miller or Greeting Farm stamp to create your creation. I chose to use Tilda from the Magnolia line. I'm not a yellow person so I really had to work at it to squeeze in some yellow here and there. I was happy once I was done. Roses On Paper has a a new line of stamps coming out ......check the site for details and design team call!

The current challenge at A Spoon Full Of Sugar is butterflies. You could use one or more but somewhere you need to have a butterfly. I believe this is my first time to join this challenge but I watch it weekly to see the fabulous creations the DT makes. They are awesome!

The third challenge I incorporated in my card is the Just Magnolia challenge which is a sketch using a Magnolia image. This is a fairly new challenge blog and so far I have been loving their challenges. You can find the sketch below.

Bunny Bath / Happy Hoppers - House Mouse

I'm pretty close to the last minute in posting my challenge card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I chose to use a Happy Hopper image......some buttons......punches to make my flower....a bit of distressing.....and my card was done!
