House Mouse Challenge 39 A Birthday Card & Simon Says Stamp Challenge / Animals

I have a two-fer....two challenges in one card. The first challenge is the House Mouse & Friends challenge #39 which is to make a birthday card for a boy or girl using a House Mouse or friends image. I thought at first that I would use one of my House Mouse birthday images and then as I was looking through my stamps I saw all these mice jumping around in joy as if they were celebrating and wishing someone a Happy Birthday. So I chose to use them. The House Mouse & Friends challenge blog is a favorite of mine to follow weekly.

The second challenge is for the Simon Says Stamp challenge blog which this week is "animals". I think I have that covered with my 3 happy jumping up and down mice! Simon Says Stamp is a fairly new challenge blog. I would recommend checking it out and I highly recommend their online store "Simon Says Stamp" for all your stamping needs. Not only do they have a great selection but their service is outstanding!

I also enjoy creating my own sketches and here is the one I created for this card. If you like it please feel free to use it!

Supplies Used:
Images: House Mouse by Stampabilities
Cardstock: Bazzill and Wausau
Printed Paper: BasicGrey from the Lime Rickey collection
Ink: Memento
Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities, Cuttlebug ribbon slider die
Brads & ribbon from "my stash"
Techniques: Images colored with Prismacolor colored pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Completed card size: 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance to check out the great creations at House Mouse & Friends and Simon Says Stamp challenge blogs!

Susan I'd like you to explain the colouring technique you use with the mice.. the "gamsol" thing? What is that? I'd love to try it, cause your colouring on these mice is always wonderful! Lovely sketch by the way!! xxxx

Susan, this is adorable! It sure shouts party to me, and those HM images are too cute. The paper you used is perfect with it. Love your self-designed layout, too.

This is just as cute as it can be -- happy - happy - and happy! I admire anyone who can do "two-fer" challenges -- I am lucky to do one. Thanks for sharing your great sketch too.
